BIO ENERGY.
  • National – Baird Brown eco(n)law LLC
Baird’s practice includes the development and financing of energy and sustainable infrastructure projects and advice on the regulatory and policy issues affecting such projects. He is counsel to the Microgrid Resources Coalition, and represents state and local sustainability agencies charged with promoting renewable energy, energy efficiency and green infrastructure. He has worked extensively on public/private partnerships and privatization of public services.
  • CA  – Evan Hughes, Consultant, Biomass Energy and Geothermal Energy
Technical and economic calculations on biomass power, biomass-based fuels (gaseous and liquid), zero waste, zero fossil carbon, geothermal energy, and comparisons among all renewable energy sources. The primary zero-waste technology investigated by Dr. Hughes is based on recovery of high-value lignin and cellulose, separately, from woody and other municipal or forest wastes and converting the liquid remaining into bio-methane or bio-CNG in a closed-loop integrated system.  The zero-fossil-carbon technology is one that avoids using air in oxidizing gaseous fuel – i.e., natural gas or biogas – with the result being easy capture of the carbon dioxide out of the H2O/CO2 exhaust gas stream, thereby enabling near-zero fossil carbon emission, and, for biogas fuel, net negative fossil carbon emission because the carbon in biogas comes out of the atmosphere via photosynthesis
